In 1988, Knoxville brothers Richard and David Smith purchased the former Jack Slagle Realty Co. and formed Dean-Smith, Inc. The company maintained its reputation as a “boutique” real estate brokerage company and remains known for its turn-key service. Their desire has never been to be the biggest, just the best.
The lure of national chains did not impress the Smiths until Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices came courting. The company’s stellar reputation and worldwide presence, coupled with unsurpassed resources for training and marketing brought a new level of service to Dean-Smith clients. In 2016, our company became known as Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Dean-Smith Realty. That’s a mouthful but you’ll get used to it. Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices is now the largest real estate company in the country.
Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Dean-Smith Realty now has over 50 agents who enjoy a healthy referral business, outstanding training resources, and personal support from Richard and David Smith, who remain owners of the company.
